Good news for us parents as a study shows that many children today still prefer playing with toys we are familiar with even with the tech age.
Last June Toy Story 4 came out and became one of the biggest hits this year along with becoming the biggest animated box office film as of late.
For many of us who were probably still kids or teenagers when the first Toy Story came out, it was a nostalgic rush to see our favorite characters up on the big screen again. To the newer audiences, it is a fun new movie that is both funny and heartwarming. Truly, it is a great film for everyone.
With the release of this movie, many as of us also remembered the joy of some of the toys featured in the film such as Barbie, Mr. Potato Head among others. Apparently, that also holds true to the newer generation.
Good News For Parents, Kids Today Love The Same Toys We Did
This good news comes from a study conducted on 2,000 American parents. The study shows that Mr. Potato Head and Play-Doh are the top toys that still remain relevant today. Other toys that continue to help kids today play includes toy phones (albeit an updated version), teddy bears, trolls, and plastic dinosaurs.
Board games continue to keep their place in American homes as well. Whether these games originated from the ’70s onward, a lot of them still make the list for toys that continue to entertain us and kids today. Some of these board games include Monopoly (of course), Scrabble, The Game of Life, Mouse Trap, and Candy Land. These board games ranked in the top 30 list of toys that both parents and children today love to play.
The study conducted reports that at least half of the parents said that their favorite childhood toy(s) is still available to buy with 84% of them saying they have already bought them or are planning to.
