“Unanswered Prayers”

Another song off Brooks’ biggest hit albums No Fences is “Unanswered Prayers.”  Brooks with Pat Alger and Larry Bastian penned the song. He was the newest star in country music by the time he released the song. It details the story of a man who turns into his old sweetheart at a high school game. He realizes that even though he used to pray ardently that they would get back together one day, his life has turned out better by being with his wife. Later on, the song inspired a television movie. Moreover, Brooks added that the song was based on a real-life experience with his high school sweetheart.

“More Than a Memory”

After a period of semi-retirement in 2007, Brooks made chart history when this song debuted at Top 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Singles chart. It was more than a comeback, adding to the fact that “More Than A Memory” marked Brooks’ first time to reach the pole position since 1998’s “To Make You Feel My Love”. Obviously, Garth showed that his powerful vocals did not suffer any retirement rust. It was written by Lee Brice, Billy Montana and Kyle Jacobs. Since we cannot find a video of Brooks performing it solo, we bring you his duet with his co-writer, Lee Brice.

“The Dance”

Some people say when you think of Garth Brooks, one song automatically comes to mind – “The Dance“. As Brooks’ timeless song, the song touched the lives of many people. Its lyrics are the most poetical and the music video covers saved footage of Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy, and other social activists. It served as a political platform to unite people, despite gender, color, and belief. Written by Tony Arata, the song was a big hit and has since become iconic. No doubt we saved the best song for last.
