Obviously, Florida Georgia Line‘s rise to country music stardom is becoming more and more unstoppable. Their then-longest-running No. 1 song “Cruise” has set the stage for a sustained success in the music scene. Recently, the country music duo made another history for having three songs, each topping three different charts. In addition to their current reign at the top of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart with “Meant to Be,” the singing duo is now gaining dominance in two other country music charts. In particular, this supremacy involves two separate tracks.
Consisting of Brian Kelly and Tyler Hubbard, the Florida Georgia Line expanded their supremacy to three component charts. Specifically, the band is leading simultaneously the Country Airplay, Country Digital Song Sales, and Country Streaming Songs. Such impressive hat-trick in the music scene is a first in history.
The Three Top Hits
“Up Down”
Written by Michael Hardy, Brad Clawson, and CJ Solar, “Up Down” is a record by Morgan Wallen featuring the Florida Georgia Line. This is the second collaborative song of the duo that went No. 1. Topping the Country Airplay, the song becomes their 13th track to lead the chart. On the other hand, “Up Down” gave Wallen his first top hit. It’s also a No. 1 song on the Canada country chart while peaking at No. 5 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. The RIAA certified the song platinum having reached 171,000 units in sales last April.
“Simple”
The band’s most recent single “Simple” is also the leading track on the Country Digital Song Sales list. As the title implies, the straightforward song was out 1st of June. Barely two weeks after its release, the single went straight to the top making it the duo’s eight No. 1 song on this chart. “Simple” also reached No. 5 on Hot Country Songs chart. Contributing a lot to this feat is the 21,000 downloads sold.
“Meant to Be”
Another collaborative song that went No. 1 for the Florida Georgia Line is “Meant to Be.” A debut chart-topper for Bebe Rexha, the song is the band’s fifth No. 1. Also, the song is on its 30th week as No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, almost reaching the crown for longest-running No. 1 song which is currently held by Sam Hunt.
This incredible musical achievement displays the band’s versatility as stressed by one of its members, Kelly.
