For those fishing enthusiasts, have you tried and listened to Fishin’ in the Dark? This song is the second single by one of the legendary bands in American music, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. It was released in 1987 from the album Hold On

It was written by Wendy Waldman and Jim Photoglo. Waldman urged Photoglo to compose a song about fishing. His initial reaction was to escape since he has already written a song titled Fishin’. However, he eventually trusted her, so they hit it on and adopted the music and lines of the recorded Fishin’

The result is musically fun and foot-stomping. The basis of the track is a couple considering a nighttime fishing activity. Particularly, the explorers intend to hit the trail to a secret river and map stars throughout the night. It’s sort of a seduction song; however, it was likewise intended to have that summer vibe where it’s warm and humid, and you search for a cozy place to cool down.

It’s one of those Nitty Gritty Dirt Band songs that simply illustrate a lovely image of spending the night at a river, fishing, chilling out in the grass, and watching constellations – surely memories to be created.

Fishin’ in The Dark by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band earned the #1 spot on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, earning another chart-topping song on the chart. It also topped the Canadian RPM Country Tracks chart. It earned the Platinum certification by the RIAA in 2014.

The song is probably the most remarkable fishing song in the history of country music. So watch the video of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s “Fishin’ in the Dark” below and once again sing and move along with it.
