Who could have ever forgotten the infamous shooting incident that happened at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas?

Grammy Awards 2018 – In light of the tragedy that occurred at Route 91, country music artists paid tribute to the lives lost in Las Vegas. Eric Church is among these country artists, together with Marren Morris, Brothers Osborn. It is fully remembered that there were 58 who have lost their lives from the incident.

Unfortunately, the tragedy that occurred at Route 91 wasn’t the only violent act that happened in the music world in 2017. Because of this, the artists’ aimed to honor the victims lost to gun violence and terrorism at various live music events over the course of the past year.

The Performance

TJ Osborne, of the Brothers Osborne, began singing Eric Clapton’s If I Saw You In Heaven. Marren Morris then took over lead the next verse, and Eric Church followed. What made the performance more powerful and heartfelt is that the names of all the victims appeared behind the singers.

Morris exclaimed onstage,

“We all performed in Las Vegas that tragic weekend, and we wanted to come together and honor the memory of the beautiful, music-loving souls so cruelly taken from us.”

In addition, that tribute came in the form of an emotive acoustic rendition of Tears In Heaven. The trio sang as handwritten notes bearing the names of shooting victims flashed on the screen behind them.

John Osborne of the Brothers Osborne told Billboard on the Grammys red carpet earlier,

“Maren, us and Eric performed that weekend at Route 91 Harvest Festival, and we feel very closely connected to that tragedy. We feel as artists, we’re indebted to these people and indebted to the world to try to shed some light on this really terrible thing.”

He added,

“Hopefully, along the way, we can bring a little happiness and maybe some peace to somebody.”

Not only did they honor the lives lost at Route 91, they also paid tribute to the music lovers who lost their lives at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester earlier in 2017.

Indeed, it was quite emotional to witness such event.
