Celebrating Eric Church’s 42nd Birthday Today

The country rock star Eric Church is celebrating his 42nd birthday today. In honor of his special day, we’ll feature some of the songs that he made popular.

Church was born on May 3, 1977, in Granite Fall, North Carolina. He grew up helping his father at his work. He learned to play the guitar at a young age, which also contributed to his love for music and songwriting. He started playing in bars, made some song covers, and sometimes wrote some original songs. Eventually, after graduating, he moved to Nashville to pursue a career in music.

Moving to Nashville

When he moved to Nashville, he worked hard to be recognized by a recording label, and he was. The first single he released that scored a spot on the chart was “How ‘Bout You.” It placed at number fourteen on the country chart. This was the first song that he co-wrote to enter the chart.

Church earned his first number one in 2011 when he released his song “Drink in My Hand,” a song from his album Chief. He followed it with his single “Springsteen,” which was also his last number one on the Hot Country Songs chart.

“Springsteen”

This is known to be his most popular song and the last at number one. “Springsteen” sold three million copies, thus, receiving a 3x platinum-certification from RIAA.
