Hey, Y’all! I’m back again with the last installment of my movie review of Netflix’s latest movie Dumplin’. It is a show executively produced by Dolly Parton. The movie stars Jennifer Aniston, Danielle Macdonald, and Odeya Rush. It hinges on the banner that there is more to beauty than outward appearance, and that “everybody is a swimsuit body.” So, without further ado, let’s dive right into it! And a fair warning, spoilers ahead! So, I highly suggest you watch the movie first before reading any of this. I highly doubt you would regret it!

The Soundtrack

It is no secret that the soundtrack to Dumplin’ was made by the fabulous Dolly Parton. She hinted it several times in her social media accounts. And early on, we were given teasers about her revivals for the movie. She also gave us die-hards a treat because she came up with a bunch of new songs for the album as well! In addition to that, Parton had teamed up with some of the biggest and brightest stars in the industry.

Honestly, the Dumplin’ soundtrack compliments the movie in such a way that I’ve only seen in musicals. The songs correspond wonderfully, and they’re unequivocally raw and relatable. In each scene where the outstanding vocals of Parton are showcased, we can truly feel the emotion with a newfound intensity and grace.

It’s Dollywood!

As a matter of fact, most of Will’s character build-up is because of Parton and her brilliant words. The words like “find out who you are and do it on purpose” resonate throughout the movie. There was also the highlight of “if you’re going to do it, do it with red bottoms.” It encourages us to own it and strut it with all our confidence and grace. The lyrics of her album echo the whole point of the movie. We must go forth and pursue the things that we love with a passion and confidence of a beauty queen. It is but important to take note that we are all beauty queens, no matter what shape or size we may come in.

Here is a small insight on Parton and one of the stars of the movie, Jennifer Aniston!

All in all, the movie is very timely for the paradigm shift that our society is undergoing right now. We must break the glass ceilings that have been set for us. Ultimately, Dumplin’ gives us a sneak peek on the power that we have. I mean, we can easily change the world if we want to. It only takes a step and a pair of red bottoms.

That’s it, folks! Thanks for sticking around till the end of the review!
