Just how many of Home Free’s fantastic cover songs have you heard already? We’ve listened to their cool cover of Zac Brown Band’s “Colder Weather,” their Motown-ish rendition of Keith Urban’s “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” their heavenly remake of Kane Brown’s “Heaven,” and numerous others that are as fabulous. Is there any particular song cover you like the most? Or maybe this one’s going to be your favorite after listening to it. Here’s the talented vocal group’s take on Thomas Rhett’s hit, “Die A Happy Man.”

To say that their rendition of the love ballad is magnificent is perhaps an understatement. Thanks to then-new band member, Adam Chance, who turned the overall performance into a splendid remake. Chance replaced one of the band’s founding member Chris Rupp who announced his departure from the group last March 2016. His reason for leaving was to pursue a solo career. While this announcement saddened the fans, they were more than happy to welcome its new member. Probably, many got excited to see his performance. However, after Home Free released several music videos, none of them actually featured him. Finally, in the band’s cover version of “Die A Happy Man,” Chance was the frontman. With his incredible voice, we can’t help but agree he deserved to be in the group.

Another striking aspect of the cover was its music video. It features the band’s bass singer Tim Foust and his real-life fiancé (now his wife), Jenicka. The couple perfectly enacted the romantic story told in the song. Being partners in life, their acts were quite authentic, and there’s true love in the air. Their rendition certainly makes the song one of the most romantic ballads to listen to. As always, the guy’s smooth harmonies are hard to resist, and they’ll make you listen to their melodic singing over and over again.

A Few Facts of the Song

“Die A Happy Man” was CMA Award-winner Thomas Rhett’s personal love song for his wife, Lauren. He co-wrote the tune with Sean Douglas and Joe Spargur. Released in September 2015, “Die A Happy Man” occupied the country chart’s No. 1 spot for seventeen weeks. Apart from being a chart-topper, the single also reached triple platinum certification as of 2017. Interestingly, it earned six nominations from various awards organizations and won four of them in 2016. There were ACM Awards’ Single of the Year, Billboard Music Awards’ Top Country Song, American Country Countdown Awards’ Song of the Year, and CMA Awards’ Single of the Year.
