Darryl Wade Worley is one of the most prodigious and soulful artists in the country music industry. His greatest hits are “I Miss My friend”, “Have You Forgotten”, and “Awful, Beautiful Life”.

Top 1 Tracks…

“I Miss My Friend” was Worley’s very first No.1 single on the Hot Country Songs charts. A song that depicts a story of losing a significant other.

His second No. 1 hit was “Have You Forgotten”. The song was, in fact, made to commemorate the victims of the September 11 attacks or mostly known as 9/11.

Then came “Awful, Beautiful Life”, his third No.1 single on Hot Country Songs charts. An anthem that portrays a person who is thankful for his life despite the crazy, ups and downs, tragic, and magic of life.

Early Life…

A native of Memphis Tennessee, Darryl Wade Worley was born on October 31, 1964. At a young age, his family moved to Pyburn, Tennessee where he was raised. His father, Tommy Worley, was a preacher while his mother, Bonnie Worley was a member of the church choir.

In addition, Worley earned his degree in Biology and Chemistry at the University of North Alabama. Prior to his country music career, Worley worked in the chemical industry.

One of Worley’s cuts as a songwriter was a track entitled “The Man That I Am” of the country duo singer Archer/Park on their 1994 debut album.

Personal Life…

Darryl Worley was first married to Beverly Irwin on May 12, 2001. They both opened a restaurant, the WorleyBird Café, in Savannah, Tennessee. Worley and Irwin got divorced in July 2006. Since December 2007, Worley has been married to Kimberly Lee Perkins whom he has a daughter named Savannah Gail. Additionally, Worley formerly managed a boutique furniture store in Enterprise, Alabama.

Charity…

Every year, Worley hosts a Charity Foundation Event which is the “Tennessee River Run”. The proceeds benefit his non-profit organizations St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Worley’s foundation also funds and helps maintain Darryl Worley Cancer Treatment Center in his hometown of Savannah, Tennessee and helps area families in need.

Career…

In 1999 to 2001, Worley signed a contract to DreamWorks Records producing his very first album “Hard Rain Don’t Last”. Worley’s debut single was “When You Need My Love” followed by “A Good Day to Run”, “Second Wind”, and “Sideways”.

“I Miss My Friend” was his most successful album and single in 2002. It was Worley’s signature song. In addition, the album was his first No. 1 albums on Top Country Albums.

The following year, Worley made another No. 1 hit and album entitled “Have You Forgotten”. A track commemorating the victims of the 9/11. It is also certified gold record by RIAA.

The self-titled album “Darryl Worley” was released in 2004. Early 2005, when the album specifically “Awful, Beautiful Life” became his third No.1 song.

In 2006 to 2007, Worley signed a contract to country singer Neal McCoy’s vanity label 903 Music. He released his track “Nothin’ But A Love Thang” on his album “Here And Now”. Also released from it were the Top 20 “I Just Came Back from a War” and the No. 54 “Livin’ in the Here and Now”.

 Stroudavarious Records signed him as a new artist in 2008 to 2010. “Tequila on Ice”, Worley’s sixteenth chart entry peaked at No. 44. “Sounds Like Life to Me”, one of the songs on the same album has reached the Top 20. Moreover, both songs are included in his fifth release, “Sounds Like Life”. The album’s third and final single was “Best of Both Worlds.”

Worley continued creating and recording hits like “You Still Got It” in 2012, “Rainmaker” in 2016, and “Lonely Alone” in 2017.
