Darius Rucker’s Home Coming at The Grand Ole Opry

Goin’ home is the best feeling in the world especially if you have been away for a long time. Initially, the first thing that you will do is to hug your loved ones and spend time with them. Just like the saying goes, “There’s no place like home”.

“The Home Coming”

Darius Rucker is an American singer-songwriter and he gained popularity as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the rock band “Hootie and The Blowfish”. Thus, the band released five studio albums and they charted six top 40 hits on Billboard Hot 100.

However, sometime around 2008 he signed a contract with Capitol Nashville and made his debut as a Country Singer. As a result, he then released his second album “Learn to Live” and its single “Don’t think I Don’t Think About it” that reached no. 1 in Hot Country Songs. This was a big achievement, making him the second black artist to reach the number one spot since the legend Charlie Pride in 1983.

“Warm Welcome”

“The Show That Made Country Music Famous” was one of the slogans of Grand Ole Opry. By the way, Opry is a weekly Country Music stage concert operating in Nashville, Tennessee. In fact, this is the longest running radio broadcast and most of the biggest names in country music set foot on their stage.

After Rucker’s performance on Opry, his friend, Brad Paisley made an appearance from the audience. At first, he seemed surprised and didn’t know what’s happening until Praisely asked the one million dollar question,

“Would you like to be the newest member of The Grand Ole Opry?”

The crowd cheered and it seemed that they really wanted to see Rucker perform again. Even more, the offer made him teary-eyed so he turned his back to wipe his tears. To this date, he is still active on the Opry and still performing what the fans wanted to hear.
