Prior to them, plenty of country music artists have been around singing love songs. However, Florida Georgia Line consisting of duo Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard took the industry by storm with their 2012 release, “Cruise.”  Having a single that stayed atop the Country Songs chart for a total of 24 weeks gives highlight for the duo’s career. Their single became the longest-running No. 1 on the chart throughout its 69-year history. It broke the record of three previous songs that jointly held the record (21 weeks) in the 1950s. The last of them was Webb Pierce’s hit In The Jailhouse.”

The Megahit Song

“Cruise” was definitely a megahit single considering its popularity and dominance on the different music charts. Written in just 45 minutes, the tune endures fame and significant acceptance from the audience. Its record-breaking reign as No. 1 song propelled Florida Georgia Line to the pinnacle of success. For four consecutive years, the song reached notable milestones. In 2013, a year after its release, it became the best-selling single by a country duo. Also, it was considered as the best-selling digital song of all time in the United States in early 2014. In addition to that, RIAA certified the hit as 9x Platinum on January 29, 2015. Apparently, the song has become unstoppable in receiving accolades. Its Diamond certification obtained on April 1, 2016, made it the first ever country song to reach such status.
