An all-star concert tribute to Charlie Daniels brings together some of the country’s biggest names. The event, which will take place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, is titled Volunteer Jam XX: A Tribute to Charlie. It will be held on March 7, 2018, with Blackbird Presents as its producer. Blackbird Presents is also the media company behind the production and recording for previous tribute concerts to country artists like Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, Gregg Allman. They have also worked on concerts for John Lennon and Jerry Garcia.
In an interview, Daniels shared,
“It’s hard to believe that it’s been 43 years since the CDB and some of our friends got together at War Memorial Auditorium for what was supposed to be a live recording session, a one-time happening that took on a life of its own and was to become known wordwide as The Volunteer Jam. I am extremely honored and excited to have this year’s Jam documented by Blackbird Presents.“
Volunteer Jam XX: A Tribute to Charlie has been among the most iconic annual concerts of country music. Part of the proceeds gathered during the event will be donated to the Journey Home Project. Journey Home Project is a nonprofit org aimed to provide support to U.S. military veterans. It was co-founded by Daniels and his manager, David Corlew.
Country fans will be treated to an amazing line-up of artists like Alison Krauss, Bobby Bare, Ricky Skaggs, Billy F. Gibbons from ZZ Top, Eddie Montgomery, Chris Janson, Blackberry Smoke, Chuck Leavell, Justin Moore, Jamey Johnson, the Oak Ridge Boys, as well as Daniels and the Charlie Daniels Band. There will also be a performance from the lead house band, to be headed by Grammy-winning artist Don Was.
Tickets for the upcoming Volunteer Jam has been made available for sale since Friday (Dec. 8) via Ticketmaster.
