9. Little Big Town
Alabama-based country group Little Big Town has a fair share of entrepreneurial ventures when they’re not busy bagging awards and making heads turn with their signature style of music. One of their lead vocalists, Karen Fairchild, recently launched her own clothing line called Fair Child. Meanwhile, Kimberly Schlapman, also on vocals, is currently hosting a cooking show titled Kimberly’s Simply Southern. She has published her own cookbook that turned out to be a bestseller and a new line of kitchenware.
8. Willie Nelson
Known for having probably the most controversial and out-of-the-box career outside the country music industry is Country legend, Willie Nelson. A long-running advocate of marijuana, the singer has produced his own line of weed. It is called Willie’s Reserve. The Cannabis flowers used in his stash are grown by independent farmers and is designed to “embrace the natural diversity and the wide range of effects that cannabis creates.”
7. Blake Shelton
Aside from Blake’s major stint as one of the coaches in the hit TV music contest, The Voice, he has also partnered with Opry Entertainment to open two bar and music venues. Ol’ Red. The bar is set to open in Nashville in 2008. A smaller branch of the said bar will also be opened in Tishomingo, Oklahoma later this year.
6. Carrie Underwood
Underwood has launched her own clothing line in the midst of several endorsement deals she already has under her belt. The line, called CALIA, is an activewear line made exclusively available at Dick’s Sporting Goods. Carrie shares on her website that she created Calia “to make it easier for me and all other women to work in working out.” Calia is complete with workout tops, bottoms, jackets, bras, swimwear and accessories for women. It also offers free shipping and returns on all its apparel.
5. Kenny Chesney
Chesney is one of the many singers who’ve transformed their music into a lifestyle brand. Since his rise to fame, he has been creating a distinct culture around his concerts that raked in amazing revenue. He’s also produced Blue Chair, his own record label imprint via Sony, along with his own line of rum called Blue Chair Bay.
4. Trisha Yearwood
Country singer Trisha Yearwood’s one true dream was to be a singing superstar. As such, her career in cooking only followed suit after her musical success. Her gradual transition to the culinary empire led her to release her own Emmy-winning TV show, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen, along with a string of bestselling cookbooks. Her show is currently running on its 10th season.
3. Toby Keith
Toby Keith is known by fans and critics worldwide to be among the country artists who possess a sharp mind for business. He currently holds a vast empire which is comprised of his chain of I Love This Bar & Grill restaurants, a record label, a Mezcal line, one of the biggest touring operations in country music, and whole other variations of merchandise. His entrepreneurial success led Forbes to dub him as “Country’s $500 Million Man.”
2. Miranda Lambert
When Miranda Lambert is not busy entertaining fans as a country superstar, she dedicates her time to operating and overseeing her businesses outside of the music world. She runs a bed and breakfast in Oklahoma, a boutique named Pink Pistol in her hometown, Lindale Texas, along with an animal shelter and animal charity called MuttNation Foundation. She is among the artists who support a no-kill advocacy for animal rights.

Country music legend Dolly Parton reigns the list of musician-entrepreneurs in her genre due to her assertive, never-give-up spirit. Dominating a wide range of careers besides music, Parton has scored appearances in the world of acting, released best-selling books, a signature theme park, Dollywood. The theme park helped revive the economy in Tennessee’s rural areas.
