With Christmas being just around the corner and New Year’s Eve following quickly after, it is only a matter of time before we say goodbye to what a rollercoaster of a ride 2017 has been. In country music alone, this year has given us a mix of both positive and negative events, thereby making our journey with our favorite artists a lot more colorful and interesting.
As such, what other better way would there be to wrap the year 2017 up than with a line-up of upcoming events featuring our most beloved country singers?
To start off, Sugarland and Kane Brown have been slated to join Camila Cabello, Ciara, Nick Jonas, and many more talented artists for the TV Special, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. This annual New Year’s Eve celebration will be held on December 31, 8 p.m. ET at the New York City Times Square and will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest.
On February 24, Texas troubadour Ray Wylie Hubbard will be inducted into the Hall of Fame for Texas Heritage Songwriters. Through his works and contributions in the music industry, Hubbard has gained massive recognition from his hometown in Texas. The Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame is dedicated to enforcing the cultural preservation of songwriting in Texas, as well as the amazing contributions of their esteemed troubadours.
Following suit is the presentation of the 2018 Horatio Alger Award for Reba McEntire. The award is presented to artists who are recognized as successful, exceptional leaders who have triumphed over various adversities and maintained a strong commitment to providing charitable services and higher education in their local communities. A ceremony will be held in Washington, D.C. from April 5 to 7, 2018. McEntire will be joined by Jimmy John Liautaud and Rob Lowe.
Last but definitely not the least, both country rapper Colt Ford and country crooner Charlie Worsham all have new projects that they are currently working on. Ford recently started his Dynamite Tour as part of promoting his newest album, Love Hope Faith. Spanning over two dozen cities across the state, from San Bernardino California to Dallas Texas, to Oklahoma City to Tampa, Florida, fans will be delighted with a line-up of great performances this coming 2018. Meanwhile, Worsham just released his very first book, Follow Your Heart: A Guitar, a Tattoo, and One Man’s Country Music Journey. The book contains a foreword from the legendary country artist, Marty Stuart. Proceeds from the book’s sales will be given to Worsham’s foundation, Follow Your Heart Scholarship Fund, which aims to support youths-at-risk in his hometown in Grenada, Mississippi.
The events listed above are probably just the tip of the iceberg. We’re pretty sure that there are more, grander events that country fans must look forward to in the months to come.
