Kent Blazy, Cory Batten, Chris Young himself are the songwriters behind the words and lyrics of “Gettin’ You Home.” It was released in February 2009 under Young’s album “The Man I Want To Be.” The song has been documented and certified platinum. Also, the song was nominated for “Best Male Country Vocal Performance” at the Grammy Awards.
Additionally, the song became Young’s fifth consecutive No.1 singles on the country charts. In fact, “Gettin’ You Home” became No.1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart on October 24, 2009.
Born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on June 12, 1985, Chris Young, attended Trinity United Methodist Church. He was inclined to music at a very early age which led him to perform in various children’s plays. Also, Young was part of his high school’s choir and performed at local clubs.
In college, he toured and performed in more than 150 shows in a year. While in a concert, a supporter advised Young to join the reality show “Nashville Star.” He auditioned and won the show in 2006. Then, Young signed with RCA Records and released his self-debut album.
After winning the “Nashville Star,” Young has started creating more singles. Fortunately, country music obsessives and critics embraced him wholeheartedly.
Young keeps dominating the country music scene. He has already placed ten No.1 singles on the country charts. Also, Young has accumulated seven Platinum Certifications. Furthermore, he has grabbed awards, and inevitably, he’ll do more.
