BYU Vocal Point is an all-male a cappella group consisting of nine members from Brigham Young University. Founded in 1991 by two BYU students, Dave Boyce and Bob Ahlander, BYU Vocal Point is a student organization under the direction and custody of BYU’s Performing Arts Management (PAM). Since its formation and inception, the group has since been an active group singing in a cappella.
In fact, they have been joining national and international a cappella group competitions in which they were proclaimed champions at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) in 2006. Moreover, more awards were associated to their name such as “Sacred Recorded Song of the Year“, “Group Recording Artist of the Year” and “Performing Artist of the Year.” These awards were given by the Faith Centered Music Association for the group’s exquisite performances.
Just recently, BYU Vocal Point has again set the bar high with their newly released cover. The group performed an a cappella version of “You Raise Me Up” by Josh Groban. The setting was by the mountainside in Provo Canyon, where some trees and green grass grows. Indeed, the performance was spectacular and lavish worth the time to watch and enjoy.
In their latest tweet, the group expressed their inspiration. They wrote:
“This song touched us in such a powerful way. We hope you feel lifted and inspired.”
