In 2019 she formed an all-female group with Maren Morris, Natalie Hemby, and Amanda Shires called The Highwomen. Before this however, she began her career performing in music clubs back in Seattle. She signed with Columbia Records in 2004 and released her self-titled album “Brandi Carlile” in 2005 and was re-released in 2006 by Columbia Records.

Her career started to take off after the release of her second album “The Story.” This was heavily featured in General Motors commercials during the 2008 summer Olympics which greatly helped give Brandi Carlile more publicity.

“The Story” peaked at No. 5 on the iTunes music store’s most purchased list. The song was featured as the end credits music of the romantic film “The Lucky One.” She has been receiving continued success from her on out.
