I know we still remember the time when Brad Pitt was such a heartthrob back in 1997. Not that he’s not a hottie anymore, but he was pretty much a household name to the point that almost every woman was crushing on him. Well, as a Shania Twain fan, I can definitely remember his name being dropped in ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much.’

After 20 years, she finally shares why she mentioned his name in that song. And it is… Drum roll, please! That is because she didn’t see what the big deal was after seeing naked pictures of him in Playgirl magazine.

“You want to know the truth about this story? I’ve never told this before. I’m going to say it now,” said Twain, 51. “I remember I had a girlfriend visiting me and it was near Christmas and we were baking cookies. I was writing this album and there was a scandal of [Pitt] and Gwyneth [Paltrow] where there was naked photos of him [in the magazine]. And this was like all the rage. I just thought ‘I don’t know what all the fuss is about.’ I’m like, well that don’t impress me much, I mean what is all the fuss.”

She was talking about the pictures featured in the August 1997 issue of the magazine as mentioned earlier. Pitt was 33 then and sued the publication that led to a halt of shipment of more copies and eventually its recall.

However, I guess it’s entirely reasonable to assume that Pitt’s naked body was a let down for her as much as anyone’s.

“We see people naked every day. That’s really what I thought. I wasn’t picking on Brad Pitt. But that was just the association at that moment, and things we make the fuss about and whatever,” she added. “Of course, it could have been any gorgeous guy.”

Well then, I’m sorry Brad Pitt. It looks like you didn’t impress all the ladies after all.
