On the Far Side of the Sky
The only inevitable thing in life is change. It’s the absolute truth. And, we all know that our existence in this world is not permanent, as the Lord designed our souls to come to our real home up in the sky when our time comes. Some would go first, others would stay behind and cherish their memories.
There isn’t a person on this planet who has not lost a loved one. That is also an unfortunate inevitable thing. And sometimes, we turn to music to give us our strength, our solace, and maybe even find a few realizations.
The Moving Hit Song
“When I Get to Where I’m Going” is a song by the critically acclaimed country artist Brad Paisley, with harmonies provided by the legendary Dolly Parton. This song was nominated for a Dove Award for Country Record song of the Year at the 37th GMA Dove awards. It has also won 2 Academy of Country Music Awards and a CMA award.
Notably, the song’s music video showcases several people who hold up pictures of the loved ones that they lost throughout the years. It just goes to show the love can transcend all boundaries that we might encounter.

Shedding the Sins and Struggles
“When I Get to Where I’m Going” is a gentle reminder primarily of two things: that our loved ones are fine in God’s loving embrace; and that someday too, we will come home to our true home. The song reassures us, in a way, that everything will be okay in the end. And that we should live every day dedicating everything that we do to the Lord.
So, when you see your family and friends, make sure to let them know that you love them and you appreciate them. Cherish the time that you have with them. Don’t forget to give yourself some love too.
