Brad Paisley Dedicates Concert to the Late Sen. John McCain

The United States of America has lost one of its most beloved war heroes and politicians. The whole nation is mourning and in constant despair, as people share their condolences to the bereaved family.

Arizona Senator John McCain breathed his last on Saturday afternoon, August 25, due to glioblastoma, a type of brain cancer. He was 81. Warm tributes have poured in from family, friends, colleagues, and supporters. In fact, even those on the opposite side of the political spectrum have shared their deepest condolences.

Country music artists have been a part of Sen. McCain’s supporters. A number of country stars took to social media their sorrow as they mourn for the senator’s death. Lee Greenwood, Tim McGraw, the Oak Ridge Boys, Lady Antebellum, and Brad Paisley have expressed their sadness.

In his concert in Bristow, Virginia, on Saturday night (Aug. 25), Brad Paisley reserved a moment to pay tribute to Sen. McCain. He then dedicated his song “When I Get Where I’m Going” and his concert to the late senator. After Paisley finished singing the song, a photo of Sen. McCain showed on the large screen onstage. Immediately, the audience stood to their feet and joined Paisley in honoring the beloved veteran.

In both his Twitter and Instagram accounts, Brad Paisley expressed his honor with the image of the senator:

“We lost an American hero today. Thank you for your service to our country, and bravery, Se. McCain. #JohnMcCain”
