Anne Murray Delights Fans With Upcoming Ultimate Collection Release

Ultimate Collection is the latest album to be released by Anne Murray.

Earlier, fans were saddened by the news that the famed country singer from Canada retired and ended her career in music. Some of Anne Murray’s supporters thought it was still too early for her to leave the industry, while the others were unaware that their idol had finally crossed the boundary for her singing career.

About two-thirds of Murray’s life was dedicated to lighting a path of numerous opportunities for female Canadian artists like her. When she called it quits in 2008, she released what she believed would likely be her final album, Anne Murray’s Christmas Album. She’s also bagged over 54 million albums and the title of being the first female Canadian solo artist to earn a gold record for her 1970’s song Snowbird.

Almost a decade later, the internationally renowned singer surprises her fans after she announced the scheduled release of an album that will feature all of her greatest hits. Titled, The Ultimate Collection, the album was personally curated by Anne Murray herself and is set to be distributed on September 9. The set will also be available in Single Disc, 2-CD, and Digital formats. A Double-Vinyl format will be released on November 17.

What makes the Canadian country singer’s voice distinct and adored by her supporters is its unique quality and ability to straightforwardly convey messages of comfort, happiness, and solace. Her upcoming album is a testament that her beautiful voice can truly transcend the tides of time.

When asked about how she came up with the final list for her collective album, Anne Murray shares that all the songs she chose each had their own special meaning—not just for her, but for her fans and fellow Canadians as well. She adds that while the collection is mainly about her greatest tracks, she strongly felt she could add her personal favorites even if it may not sound that familiar to her fans.

The hits were easy but then to decide what should go on the second disc, I went over the songs that I used to do in sound check, things I used to do in the unplugged segment of the show, personal favorites of mine. Some of them are from early on in my career so they have kind of a special meaning for me too.”
