One of the most popular hits of Willie Nelson, “Always on My Mind,” has been covered by a number of fans and artists alike. However, only a few could sing as close as to how Nelson renders his song.

One of the best performances though is the rendition of an incredibly talented little girl that stunned a lot of people. By the time she opened her mouth to sing “Always on My Mind,” everyone was in awe.

This 8-year-old girl whose name is Annafaith belted out the Willie Nelson classic hit. Her singing ability was undeniably mature and well beyond her years. Moreover, the control and the grit evident in her vocals are simply jaw-dropping. With more practice and learning, she will definitely go places with the incredible voice she has.

Willie Nelson’s “Always on My Mind”

Originally released in 1969, the classic hit “Always on My Mind” was first recorded by B.J. Thomas. It was then followed by the renditions of other artists like Brenda Lee and Elvis Presley both in 1972 and the Pet Shop Boys in 1987.

However, “Always on My Mind” got most of its popularity when country music artist Willie Nelson rendered his version of the song in 1982. Right after its release, Nelson’s version received a very favorable reception which made the song even more popular. To note, the song sat atop the Billboard Hot Country Songs for two weeks. Overall, it spent a total of 21 weeks on the said chart.

Furthermore, not only did it become number one in the United States, but the song also clinched the top spot on the RPM Country Tracks in Canada. In fact, the song penetrated 11 charts in seven countries.

In addition, Nelson’s version managed to give him three wins at the Grammy Awards in 1983. The song won Song of the Year and Best Country Song. Meanwhile, Nelson bagged home the Best Male Country Vocal Performance.
