Austin City Limits is a television music program. It is widely known as the “Live Music Capital of the World.” And, if you didn’t make it to their 17th annual AmericanaFest last September, you can still see some of the highlights on PBS. The new episode will air on Saturday, the 9th of February. This one-hour special will also be available beginning the 10th of February at 12 AM ET.

The 2018 AmericanaFest took place in Nashville last September 11 to 16. It was held at Nashville’s prestigious Ryman Auditorium. The Festival served as the week’s centerpiece. There were more than 200 acts and more than 500 shows over the five-day event.

The performances included the musical stylings of John Prine, Brandi Carlile, Buddy Guy, Irma Thomas, Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Margo Price, and more.

The Aretha Franklin Tribute

Last year, we have lost Aretha Franklin. She was one of the greatest artists to have ever graced the music industry. The legendary singer was diagnosed with cancer in 2010. And, she retired from music in 2017.

Among the wonderful performances included an amazing rendition of Aretha Franklin’s iconic “Chain of Fools.” It was performed by a diverse group of vocal powerhouses who came together to pay respects to the one and only Queen of Soul.

Furthermore, the performers for the rendition include Courtney Marie Andrews, The War and Treaty, The McCray Sisters, Irma Thomas, and Brandi Carlile.

As a matter of fact, there will also be another royal send-off for the Queen at the 61st annual Grammy Awards. She will be honored with a performance by a trio of contemporary R&B greats: Andra Day, Fantasia Barrino-Taylor, and Yolanda Adams. A full roster of superstars that are scheduled to take the stage together with the three powerhouses.
