The American Music Awards (AMA) is finally here, and we can’t contain our excitement for this year’s winners. The event was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on the 24th of November. It was certainly a night to be remembered with extravagant performances from great artists such as Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes, and Camilla Cabello and more.
This year American Rapper Post Malone led the nomination with seven categories on his shoulders, including the biggest category of the night, Artist of the Year. He competed for the title with Drake, Ariana Grande, Halsey, and Taylor Swift.
Like all other categories in the award show, country music has also its own. Let’s take a look at this year’s Favorite Country Album.
Nominees for AMA 2019 Favorite Country Album
Carrie Underwood‘s album Cry Pretty is nominated for this category. She released the album last year, and it became critically acclaimed. She competed with other big and emerging names in country music in this category like Kane Brown and Dany + Shay. Brown’s second album Experiment was nominated for this category, while, Dan + Shay’s self-titled album competed for the title.
The winner of this year’s Favorite Country Album goes to Cry Pretty by Underwood. She truly deserved to win this award!
After not being able to bring home CMA’s prestigious award Entertainer of the Year on the 13th of November, Underwood surely feels good as she won this year’s AMA Favorite Country Album. Now she can absolutely ‘cry pretty.’
Cry Pretty hit the top of the charts on the UK and the US. It sat at the number one spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums and Billboard 200 chart.

Congratulations to all the winners, and what a great night it was for country music indeed!
