Country music star Alan Jackson’s daughters are all grown up now, and the “Don’t Rock the Jukebox” singer has every right to be a proud father of each one of them.

Alan Jackson and his wife Denise Jackson are one of those couples the country world looks up to. They were high school sweethearts who got married and raised strong, independent women. And today, we’re going to get to know more about Alan Jackson’s daughters. Keep on reading below!

Mattie Denise Jackson

Mattie graduated from college in 2012 from the University of Tennessee after studying the English language. She is also a graduate of the Franklin Road Academy.

Mattie is also a certified sommelier. She spent time studying in Greece and at the Joseph Phelps Vineyard in Napa Valley. Mattie ran the restaurant Salt & Vine restaurant in the Sylvan Heights nearby Nashville until June 2018. The restaurant, later on, announced its closure. Indeed, when one door closes, another opens for Mattie. She then moved from Austin back to her home in Nashville to set up her restaurant.

In late 2018, the Jackson family was hit with a tragedy. When Mattie’s husband, Ben Selecman, slipped and hit his head, while helping a woman on a boat dock in Jupiter, Florida. He suffered traumatic head injuries and died shortly after.

Selecman was an Assistant District Attorney for Davidson County in Tennessee. The District Attorney’s office honored Selecman on their social media account. They wrote: “Assistant District Attorney Samuel Benton ‘Ben’ Selecman 1990-2018.”

“Thank you for your service, your kindness, compassion, and for the laughs and memories.”

The country legend turned to Instagram to thank his fans and their friends for the support and comfort they received. He also celebrated Selecman’s memories by describing him “as a southern boy who loved hunting and fishing and just being outdoors.”

“His childlike enthusiasm for each new day was contagious to everyone around him. He was the godly young man that Denise had always prayed for Mattie. Ben, we love you. Rest in Peace until we see you again,” Alan Jackson wrote along with a couple of private photos of himself and his son-in-law.

Mattie and Selecman got married nearly a year before the tragic incident. They had a beautiful ceremony in Franklin, Tennessee.

“Ben will tell you we first met at a mutual friends’ wedding, but I just remember dancing with a cute guy and never thinking about him after,” Mattie revealed to Southern Bride.

The two reconnected two years later when Selecman spent summer clerking for a judge in Nashville during his days in law school. He asked Mattie out, but our girl said no. Luckily, Selecman did not give up.

“He pursued me until I finally saw the handsome, outgoing, Godly guy I needed. After deciding we were meant for forever, he took me on a picnic on the Old Historic Natchez Trace, where we enjoyed incredible wine, cheese, dancing, and the most romantic proposal,” Mattie said.

One month after Selecman’s passing, Alan Jackson shared a photo of his wife, Denise, along with Mattie and their two other daughters. The four women can be seen all smiles at the camera, with the girls wearing shirts that say NaSHEville.

NaSHEville is an apparel brand recently in part by Mattie. The brand was described as “A brand, a body, and a movement celebrating fierce, grace-filled women of Nashville.”

As Alan explained in his post, Mattie has adopted NasSHEville as her new mission in life, which “gives back to women and orphans in need.”

Alexandra Jane Jackson

Alexandra, who the family fondly calls “Ali,” has an especially close relationship with her father. In 2017, Ali shared a sweet message in honor of his induction to the Country Music Hall of Fame.

“The world sees you as follows: a great musician, an impressive songwriter, and a talented vocalist. I see you as my best friend, the guy that taught me that how you treat people matters more than anything else and taught me just how to stand on my own two feet,” Ali wrote in her social media account. “You’re every daughter’s dream father. Thank you for raising us in a house filled with Jesus and music, and always making sure we knew whatever our dream was could be our reality.”

In 2013, Ali made a buzz when she was arrested for allegedly hitting a police officer and consuming alcohol under the legal age. She was only 20 years old then.

According to Metro Nashville Police, Ali was charged with assault, underage consumption of alcohol, and resisting arrest during a traffic stop. The young Ali was riding shotgun in a Range Rover that a police officer observed was speeding. The officer did his job and pulled the car over, only to discover that Ali “had consumed a large amount of alcohol.”

Police said Ali became “visibly irate” while he was talking to the driver of the vehicle, and started making demands as she got out of the car. The officer asked her to return to the car, but according to police, that only made Ali even angrier. After being threatened with arrest if she would not get back inside the car, Ali struck the officer in his chest.

When the police were trying to arrest her and take her into custody, she put up enough of a fight that the officer had to call for backup. Ali eventually complied with the arrest, but police said that while she was being booked, she “made several statements to the arresting officer” that her father Alan Jackson “would do anything” she wanted him to do.

Police charged her with underage drinking, assaulting an officer and resisting arrest. She was released on a $35,000 bond.

Dani Grace Jackson

Dani is the youngest among Alan Jackson’s daughters. Though not much is known about her, she periodically attends events with her family.

For four decades, Alan Jackson has entertained millions of his fans with his beautiful mix of honky-tonk and traditional country music. He has sold over 80 million records, is a member of the Grand Ole Opry and became a Country Music Hall of Famer in 2017.

But guess his most significant achievement is raising three strong and compassionate women! And without a doubt, Alan Jackson’s daughters are very proud of their legendary father too.
