Alan Jackson, himself, wrote the words and lyrics of “Blue Ridge Mountain Song.” It was released in 2013 as part of his album “The Bluegrass Album.” The same album that provided us “Wild and Blue” and “Blue Moon of Kentucky.” Moreover, the album became number one on the Billboard Top Bluegrass Albums chart. Also, it placed at number three on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

Alan Jackson grew up singing in the church. He listens to gospel music most of the time. Jackson started a band after graduating from high school. Then, at the age of 27, along with his wife Denise, they moved to Nashville to pursue his musical career full time.

Glenn Campbell helped Alan Jackson’s career to skyrocket. He then signed up to Arista. In 1989, Jackson was the first artist to sign to the newly-formed Arista Nashville, the branch of Arista Records. After signing, Jackson’s career began to boom and the rest was history.
