We have read about Chris Stapleton winning the Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Album of the Year ACM Awards this year. The speculations are close, knowing that Stapleton leads the nominations. The singer-songwriter is up for eight bids in five categories, with Entertainer of the Year as his first time vying for the penultimate prize of the night. If he does win, it will be the best birthday gift for him. Yes, folks. He will be up on the stage that night, on his birthday, making history.
If he wins at the Academy of Country Music this year, it would complete another industry trifecta for Stapleton. He swept Album of the Year for “Traveller” at both ACM and CMA Awards as well as Best Country Album at the Grammys. Moreover, for “From A Room: Volume 1” he is on track to do the same, having already won at the CMAs and Grammys.
However, some say he is a second best in Entertainer of the Year considering Garth Brooks as one of the nominees.
Happy Birthday, Chris!
Judged by whether character or talent, Chris Stapleton will remain the humble man he is, win or lose. We want to share some of the things you may not know about him as a birthday special.
Did you know that the words “You Are My Sunshine” are engraved in his wedding ring? It is a song he usually plays at his concerts. Morgane had it secretly imprinted into his ring before they wed in 2007. The two also have a recording of this song. You have to watch it. It is awesome!
He also used to work at Papa John’s Pizza. Not just that. He still keeps his employee badge in his medicine cabinet. According to Stapleton, it serves as a reminder that he worked a lot of different things to be doing what he is doing now.
Stapleton is no doubt a humble person who has not forgotten his roots. In 2016, Chris went back to his alma mater, Johnson Central High School in Kentucky. Aside from donating $57,000 worth of musical instruments, he also performed for the students and staff. He did this as a part of ACM Lifting Lives program.
Of course, Stapleton surely is expecting a lot of blessing this year. He has received multiple awards but the greatest blessing in store for him is his twins on the way. Yes, they are expecting twins!
We have not stressed on this much, but, happy birthday Chris! Win or lose at the ACM Awards, you will always be our man. We will always hold on to your passion, as you always say,
“I’d like to make music because I love to make music.”
