Country Makes an Impact in the 61st Grammy Awards

The Nominees

The Grammy Awards are here! It kicked off on the 7th of December when it released the full list of nominees for its 61's awards night. The prestigious awards show had certainly taken note of female talent because the nominees are but mostly personifications of female star power. In particular, the list includes female superstars like Miss Loretta Lynn, Kacey Musgraves, Kelsea Ballerini, and Ashley McBryde.

The lead track "Shallow" for the monumental movie "A Star is Born" is nominated for a total of four awards. It includes Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Best Song Written For Visual Media. Moreover, we recall the amazing journey that "A Star is Born" immersed us in. The story revolves around country superstar Jackson Maine and his whirlwind of a relationship with Ally.

It's definitely Kacey Musgraves' this year! With several accolades that were awarded to her this year, a Grammy sure wouldn't hurt! Musgraves got nominated for several categories as well. Her album "Golden Hour" was nominated for Album of the Year and Best Country Album.

Additionally, her performance for "Butterflies" earned her a nomination for Best Country Solo Performance. On the other hand, her "Space Cowboy" earned her a nomination for Best Country Song.

Meanwhile, Luke Combs was nominated for this year's Best New Artist and Chris Stapleton bagged two nominations for himself. Furthermore, he was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Justin Timberlake for their rendition of Say Something.

Also, Stapleton was nominated for Best Country Solo Performance for "Millionaire," and Best Country Album for his album "From A Room: Volume 2."
