The Billboard Music Awards is fast approaching, and we can’t wait to see who’s going to be the big winner of the night. However, what we can’t wait to see are the winners for the country music categories. This year’s award show will be hosted by Kelly Clarkson. The event will be held at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 1. You can watch the show live on NBC at 8 PM ET.

Since we still have a few more days before the anticipated award show, let’s take a look at which country artist won the most Billboard Music Award.

Artists with Most Billboard Music Awards

Currently, Billboard has fifty-six categories to watch out for. But, the main awards are the following: Top Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album, Top Hot 100 Song and Top New Artist. Other categories are just minor awards in the show. Since 1990, when the award show began, there has been a lot of artists who earned their awards, some of them even repeatedly took home an award. Here’s a list of artists who have the most awards.

  • Janet Jackson (11)
  • Rihanna (12)
  • R. Kelly (12)
  • Mariah Carey (15)
  • Drake (15)
  • Whitney Houston (16)
  • Adele (18)
  • Usher (18)
  • Garth Brooks (19)
  • Justin Bieber (20)
  • Taylor Swift (23)

Garth Brooks, the Country Artist with the Most BBMA

As you can see on the list, Brooks and Swift are the only two country artists. However, other awards Swift brought home were not related to country music as she switched from country to pop music. Therefore, Brooks is the country artist with the most wins for the Billboard Awards. In addition, he’s the only country artists to have numerous wins.

Sadly, Brooks has no nominations this year. Meanwhile, Swift is nominated in two categories. If she won for both of the categories she’ll already have a total of 25 awards.
